Considering how MS and pretty much every other developer have been very vocal about how it is not viable for them anymore to start from scratch every generation (and how much MS has been pushing BC), I would say their new machine is NOT gonna be a new arquitecture, rather a more powerful interation of their existing one.
And considering that by then the X1X is gonna be ~$299 and the X1S ~189. This new console is gonna be their new "premium" machine at $499 with maybe 15-18TF. Which basically means that games are gonna run on the three consoles at different settings.
