Valve and Perfect World are bringing Steam to China

Valve has announced a new partnership with Perfect World Co. to launch Steam China, which "will provide Chinese gamers and developers with a new way to access Steam's expansive selection of games and entertainment."
The size of the Chinese audience makes the launch of an officially-approved version of Steam in the country a huge move for Valve. The store is accessible in the country, but access to the Steam Community, including forums, user profiles, and inventories, is completely blocked, meaning that anything requiring interaction with other users isn't going to work.

In the teasiest of trailers, we're shown a running timeline that mentions the discovery of the Oversoul, the Age of Dawn, the birth of a goddess, a World War, the formation of a New World Academy and, blimey, a day of reckoning.
"CE5450: Punishment. On the Day of Judgement, Gaia turns against mankind," so says the following trailer.

The Quiet Man was announced at Square Enix's E3 show today, introduced with might be the worst trailer of E3 so far.
It begins with some live action, in which a man, who is quiet, walks into an alley. The man who is quiet makes eye contact with two other men, troubling stereotypes meant to appear as rough and tough streetwise thugs. The alley-men notice the man who is quiet who is also carrying a paper bag that could be mistaken for chow and let him know that they did not, in fact, order any chow.

 

Monster Hunter: World is coming to Final Fantasy 14 in a new crossover this summer

The virus is essentially gone, but civilization has yet to recover.

Assassin's Creed Odyssey releases in October, is set in Ancient Greece and has dialogue choices

Assassin's Creed Odyssey has finally been revealed by Ubisoft at E3. As rumoured for a few weeks, it was confirmed that the game's set in Ancient Greece. Thrown off the cliff by his father at the start of the game, we see huge-scale battles, naval combat, a variety of settings like deserts, countrysides, snowy mountains and more. Plus, there's a fight with a bear. It's Assassin's Creed alright. It's set during the Peloponnesian War.

In what is surely E3 2018's most unfortunate news, Bioware's Anthem will not have smooching. The future is forsaken.

Ubisoft's psychological thriller Transference ditches VR requirement, is coming this fall

Transference, the "mind-bending psycho-thriller" announced at the start of 2016 by Ubisoft and Elijah Wood's SpectreVision, will be out this fall, Ubi announced during today's E3 press event. And it won't just be a VR game, as it was originally announced: Wood and game director Benoit Richer said during the show that it's also coming to traditional platforms.

 

The Crew 2 open beta kicks off next week
