- The Initiative is cool since it's completely new so it will be exciting to see where they go.
Gallagher joined Microsoft Studios executive leadership team in April. Prior to his joining Microsoft, he spent two years with Activision as senior vice president and a decade at Crystal Dynamics. His work at Crystal culminated in his work rebooting the studio’s 2013 “Tomb Raider” reboot, which focused more on survival and delivering a more grounded and mature story. Gallagher also worked at Rockstar, Sony, and THQ over the life of his career.
- Ninja Theory was unexpected but very welcome have yet to play Hellblade but I want to. Hopefully, they secure the talent for a few years, lets see what they can do next.
- Playground isn't really a surprise, I think we all saw that coming eventually but they were working on something other than Forza, right? Like, right now? Think I saw job listings about something other than Forza Horizon. At least I hope they aren't stuck on Forza Horizon. They are working on Fable 4.
- Undead Labs, a little mixed bag for me since I love State of Decay but I've only heard mediocre things about the second one, could be great though. I played over 25 hours of State of Decay 2, It's an amazing game. I expected the game to be AAA but it turn out to simply improved version of State of Decay. Fortunately, with bigger development budget State of Decay 3 can be a AAA game.
- Compulsion Games, why though? We Happy Few had very mixed reception did it not? Granted, it was in early access but still. What else have they done? (looking it up as I write) Contrast? Okay, I remember this one but I don't know why it warrants an acquisition. The game hasn't come out yet, But just look at the work they have accomplish and the talent at the studios. The studio struggle financially, now they got the funding to prove themselves. We happy few is expected to do much better then Contrast. Should be getting acclaims for art works and animations.

All in all, good acquisitions but I'm still confused about Undead Labs and Compulsion, I guess they wanted some smaller studios.
