The sheer amount of content that was revealed or teased was astounding to me, especially for Bethesda who is relatively new to E3 presentations. I wasn't expecting much info at all on Starfield or Elder Scrolls VI and the fact that those games were officially acknowledged is enough to hold me over for a long time. I hate playing shooters but I was impressed with the games in that genre that they did show. Overall, they just showed better games. That's what I care about and it's as simple as that. I have a hunch that many people disliked their conference because they did not approve of innovative iterations of their favorite franchises such as card games, MMOs, online only games etc. I can barely remember anything that happened in the lackluster presentations by EA and Microsoft. Nothing they presented gave me chills, although I did think that Forza looked pretty cool. I could give Sony the edge if they announce NEW rpgs. Focusing on zombie and superhero games just won't do it for me. If Nintendo announces ports of the first two Xenoblade games for Switch as well as new rpgs that seem to be quality I would give them the edge. It would probably convince me to go out and buy a Switch. Also, I accept 'ESO is crap, they don't do MMOs well' as a personal opinion but it's hardly an objective fact considering the awards they have won the last few years. |
I ll admit thats why Im so putoff with Fallout 76... I feel like they changed Fallout so much already from what it was with 1+2.
It going always-online co-op focused, isnt a good thing. My intrest is really low for this game, mainly because of that.
Elder Scrolls - Blades, at first I was almost angry..... why isnt this just a mainline TES6 game? but after they also showed that (TES6), I calmed down and became more accepting of this thing being its own thing. The idea of a Town Simulation game + dungeon crawler (with quests gained from City management) intrests me. Im willing to give this a try, and actually think it ll be a pretty decent game.
Doom is doom, a new one is a good thing.
Without TES6 at the end, my "impressions" of this E3 presentation would just have been me being slightly angry at ES-Blades, and dissapointed in Fallout 76.
