Your text is a bit too big to read through everything, so I just gave it a quick glance to have an idea what you are talking about( and if you can give a tl dr version for me, I would be grateful), but I agree with the general idea.Though I personally think this thread should have waited E3 before being made.I mean, the only conference we went through so far is EA and that one was shit, which dosent paint your opinion in the best light possible lol.

But yeah, you have got a point, most companies have been pumping out great games, and genuine bad games are hard to come by.Nintendo and Sony are making the best entries in their old franchises this gen, and making excellent new ones.At the very least, I would say this gen and the one Nintendo is in(Gen 8 and gen 9) is by far better than gen 7.Not only in quality, but in quantity and diversity. We are getting masterpieces in genres like RPGs(which includes all sub-genres like WRPGs, JRPGs, SRPGs and so on), racing, adventure, puzzle, horror, survival horror, FPS and third person shooter and so on.Yeah, shit always happens, just like the lootboxes and microtransactions and we have bad companies like EA, but that is unavoidable, as everything has its ugly side.
Saying that we live in a golden Age is... hard, because thats more easily determined after we passed that age(doubt anyone called the 4th and 5th gen a golden age during it, because usually we miss the good times when we enter a "bad time"), but I would say that we certainly are experience one of the best years in gaming, for sure.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.
