The game launched in the US on August 8 and retails for the standard next-gen price of $60. Capcom says it’s the firm’s 41st game to reach the 1 million mark. Dead Rising is part of Capcom’s renewed strategy to create games with a global audience in mind. Senior US exec and recently appointed head of European operations Mark Beaumont told Next-Gen this week that he expects the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive Lost Planet: Extreme Condition to outsell Dead Rising. The milestone far surpasses previous estimates from Japan analysts at NikkoCitiGroup, who said that the game would ship just 800,000 by the end of the fiscal year in March.
