On March 22 one of Steam's regular updates was rolled out, complete with fixes to the in-game overlay and problems involving corrupt items on the Steam Workshop. It also dealt with a bug that made it possible for someone to get access to the computer of anyone with Steam run code remotely, effectively taking over their computer.
Security researcher Tom Court has blogged about the bug and its potential misuse, explaining that, "At its core, the vulnerability was a heap corruption within the Steam client library that could be remotely triggered, in an area of code that dealt with fragmented datagram reassembly from multiple received UDP packets."

The Nintendo Switch Emulator, RyujiNX, can now boot Super Mario Odyssey

Last month, we informed you about the Nintendo Switch emulator, Ryujinx, booting Splatoon 2 and running Sonic Mania with 100fps. And today we are happy to report that the latest Nintendo Switch exclusive Mario game, Super Mario Odyssey can be booted in this emulator.
As said, RyujiNX can only boot the game at this stage. Super Mario Odyssey is far from being emulated and it currently runs at 1-2fps. In other words, it’s a similar case to RPCS3 running initially Red Dead Redemption with only 1-2fps. It’s the first step towards emulating the game and performance will undoubtedly improve in future builds.

 

Gran Turismo HD Concept and Yakuza: Dead Souls running on the PC thanks to the PS3 emulator, RPCS3

YouTube’s ‘reznoire’ has shared two videos, showing Gran Turismo HD Concept and Yakuza: Dead Souls running on the PC thanks to the best PS3 emulator, RPCS3. While emulation is not perfect yet, these two titles can be described as a bit playable at this point.
Going into slightly more details, Gran Turismo HD Concept appears to have some shadow and lighting issues. Reflections also appear a bit weird and the on-screen letters are black (instead of white). However, the game appears to be running smoothly in RPCS3.
On the other hand, Yakuza: Dead Souls has less graphical glitches, however, there are some minor performance issues that can be hopefully resolved in a future build.

 

God of War 3, Nier, Uncharted 2 progressing well on PC with PS3 emulator

The RPCS3 emulator's catalogue boasts everything from Demon's Souls to Asura's Wrath, and Persona 5. In April, in time for Kratos' latest PS4-exclusive expedition, RPCS3 shared early footage of both God of War: Ascension and God of War 3 working on PC.
As shown there, Uncharted 2: Among Thieves' now also boasts its first in-game footage—as does Killzone 3. Nier, Shadows of the Damned and Beyond Good and Evil HD are all in playable states; whereas Tales of Vesperia, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and NCAA Football 11 are still in "work-in-progress" status.

Kaze Emanuar, the talented man behind some incredible projects such as Super Mario 64 Online, Sonic Adventure: Last Impact, Super Mario 64: Ocarina of Time and Super Mario 64 First-Person, has released new romhack for Super Mario 64. This brand new romhack brings Fortnite-inspired functionalities to Nintendo’s classic 3D platformer.
This is a pretty cool crossover between these two franchises and ironically, everything appears to working great in Super Mario 64. Players can use the Dpad in order to choose the build shape and then press “L” in order to build it.

Gui Santos, the man behind the Ultimate Update for Mortal Kombat Project Season 2.9 we reported back in April, has released the final version of his MUGEN game based on Mortal Kombat 2. As with all MUGEN games, this is a free game that everyone can download and play.
Mortal Kombat 2 MUGEN Final adds new special moves and fatalities. In addition, it introduces combos and the run button from Mortal Kombat 3. New characters have been also added, as well as new endings for Jade, Smoke and Noob Saibot.

CI Games announced today that it will partner with developer Defiant Studios to deliver the anticipated sequel to Lords of the Fallen. Lords of the Fallen (released on consoles and PC in 2014) is a challenging action RPG that follows the journey of Harkyn, a convicted criminal who takes up arms against the demonic Rhogar army. The game was developed by Deck13 and features fast paced combat, blending powerful magic alongside a complex and satisfying melee combat system.
