I think gaming is like the car industry. PC gamers with gaming rigs have the $500,000 cars, and console gamers have the $20,000-30,000 cars. Except that with gaming, those $500,000 cars go bad in about 4 years, and suddenly the $20,000 car is just as good as the $500,000 car was 4 years ago. But look! A NEW $500,000 car! Better buy again!
