Fortnite's temporary jetpack mode disabled after less than an hour, then reinstated

Fortnite fans have been soaring through the skies this week thanks to the addition of jetpacks, the first item in the new 'backpack' category. Yesterday, Epic Games launched a temporary game mode showcasing the new devices called Close Encounters—but had to disable it less than an hour later.
The mode makes jetpacks far more common, and replaces all weapon drops with shotguns, the hope being that players will zoom around and blast each other at close range. But Epic quickly took it down, saying it was investigating "issues" with the mode. It instead enabled Solid Gold, a mode that guarantees legendary weapon drops.

Surviving Mars to add new space domes and long-awaited tutorial on Monday

Surviving Mars' domes, in which your colonists live, are one of my favourite things about the game. They're full of colour and light and really stand out from the dusty backdrop of the Red Planet. In an update on Monday, developer Haemimont Games will add five more dome types of various shapes and sizes, and they look very pretty indeed.

Driving horror game Beware now has a playable demo that looks terrifying
https://www.pcgamer.com/driving-horror-game-beware-now-has-a-playable-demo-that-looks-terrifying/
Beware's fresh take on the survival horror genre is that the entire game takes place with you sat behind the wheel of a banged-up car. Enemies skid around its sepia-stained open world, hunting you down and trying to ram you off the road as you piece together bits of information scattered throughout the landscape. It sounds fascinating, and it's just got its first public playable demo.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance unveils DLC roadmap, three new stories due this year
https://www.pcgamer.com/kingdom-come-deliverance-unveils-dlc-roadmap-three-new-stories-due-this-year/
Kingdom Come: Deliverance will get three pieces of story DLC, a free hardcore mode and tournaments before the end of the year, developer Warhorse Studios has revealed.
The DLC roadmap, which you can see at the bottom of this post, doesn't give release dates for individual pieces of DLC, but tells you roughly when they're due out. From the Ashes is up first, and it'll grant you control of an abandoned village that you have to build back up to its former glory. That will be shown off at E3, and it's due this summer alongside a free Hardcore Mode.

Star Citizen backers looking to build their own fleet can now buy a new ship pack containing 117 craft—nearly every ship in the game—along with 163 extra items, including upgrades, skins and in-game posters. It's a mere $27,000.
Yep, you read that right. I'd tell you to click on the link for the Legatus Pack, but you'll only be able to view the page if you've already spent $1,000 on the open-world space sim.

Battlefield 5 design director says playable female characters will put him on 'right side of history'
https://www.pcgamer.com/battlefield-5-design-director-says-female-playable-characters-will-put-him-on-right-side-of-history/
One of Battlefield 5's design directors has said the inclusion of playable female characters in the WW2 shooter will put him on the "right side of history".
Commenting on the fan backlash about the presence of women in the upcoming game, which was revealed last week, Alan Kertz said: "I knew this was going to be a fight when I pushed for female soldiers in Battlefield. I have a daughter, and I don’t want to ever have to answer her question of 'why can’t I make a character that looks like me?' with 'because you’re a girl'.

>>And EA has also commented on the matter. Personally, I think both sides of the discussion are wrong and missing the point, but whatever.
