Aren't you the one telling others that the scores that are much lower than the overall consensus should be treated the same as the highest ones, regardless of the ratio between them?

95/100 = 15% higher than the average.

40/100 = 40% lower than the average.

But according to you, we should treat both the same way. Because reason.
