Actuallymost 2600 games were already shitty almost thirty years ago, with a small minority of games actually worth playing. Today there are even less games worth playing.
Ports for the 2600 are often the worst versions around. There are some exceptions of course.

NES has a massive amount of still playworthy games like Life Force, Gradius, the Castlevanias, SMB 3 and many others. I'd even prefer the NES version of Pirates over almost every VCS game.

And the VCS 2600 was the first real console i ever played. Space Invaders and the pretty shitty Pacman port.
