What’s your solution, H.E.R? Yes, people targeting schools and soft targets with large unarmed crowds are a problem. What realistic laws would have stopped this? It’s terrorism. You know that the 2nd amendment won’t be repealed any time soon. Confiscation is unrealistic and won’t work. What would you do? I personally think we should hire vets or retired police to guard schools. Not useless security guards but trained people ready and willing to die for these kids protection, it’s unfortunate but it’s the only realistic way to deal with this imo.

Security guards aren't enough. The one in Parkland ran away and the one in Santa Fe was shot. I've stated before in this very thread I'm actually a 2nd Amendment supporter even if it doesn't seem like it right away. I do believe an American citizen has a right to defend his home and anyone trespassing should be at risk of getting shot. That militia crap though? Unless you're arming citizens with missiles and assault rifles, you're not taking down any army anytime soon nor do I believe any American citizen should be armed enough to do so.

So what do I propose so far? Stricter FEDERAL laws. More risk for illegal sellers ups their prices and hopefully slows down sales. Definitely more thorough background checks for any firearms purchases. REALLY don't understand Trump making it legal for people with mental disorders to purchase guns. Lesser magazine sizes for all states. I'd also introduce a nice sizable bullet tax for everyone except hunters who hunt solely for food. I'd also make it mandatory to buy a safe for anyone with a firearm that must be checked annually. I'd also begin charging the last legal owner of guns of mass shootings with manslaughter if those guns were stolen. Is it really too much to ask gun owners to be more responsible with their firearms?
