Nintendo stated this just before the Wii launched. Their next console will be at least 720p standard.
On topic:
8 th gen consoles will easily run Crysis at 1080p and 60 fps. A computer that can do so shouldn't run much more than about $1k and will easily be under that by the end of the year.
By the time the 8th generation consoles come out, a basic cheapo PC from Wal-mart would be able to run Crysis at those settings.
