I wouldn't think so. There is the abilty to skip to any part of game's challenge list. For example: Lets pretend a challenge is beat eggrobo in less than minute. You dont have to play Sonic 2 to the end, excepting that challenge will just take you there. I cant imagine they'd do that and block save states.
