It's not like someone with a nice inventory can't sell illegally in a different state, especially when payment is only in cash...or someone can't use a fake ID to buy a gun in a state with lax gun laws and then bring it back to a state with harsher gun laws. Fake IDs aren't a problem we have in our amazing country, right?

You're from Chicago, look if recovered guns in your city were from Illinois or legally obtained.

So your point is that people will break federal laws so we should make more for them to break?

Fake id's pass background checks?

What's a federal law to a student about to shoot his class? Could be a different point for a seller crossing state lines and at least curb a few sales if there's more risk.

And about the background checks? Hello, gun show loophole! Illinois's surrounding states (Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Kentucky, Tennessee, Arkansas, Missouri) don't require background checks for any purchases during gun shows. Only Iowa requires them for handguns.
