The managers of the largest companies have a huge impact on our society and politics. So it is fair to have a balanced representation there.

This quota could have a negative impact in the short term, but in the long term, companies will ensure that their female employees are given equivalent training to their male colleagues.

Companies need to have a single objective, follow the profit. Anything else is bad for business. If the money come from hiring more female leaders to give a different vision to the company that is good, they decided. If the government demands someone hire more woman and the company need to hire less qualified to fill a quota the company will be less efficient, cost more and lose money.

Companies are regulated by the government in many ways. A complete free market is as utopic as communism, it just don't work in reality.
