That is not surprising. I mean, I'm sure we can find similar statistics for every country. Why would you think service men are getting gunned down? We've pulled out of most of the active fighting zones. 

 

after generations of parents wishing their sons/daughters would not join the military but instead go to Uni/college because it is so much more safe we have now crossed a path where it potentially becomes more safe to join the military then going to study.

But none of these lately have been at a university.
