mZuzek said: Eh, not a fan of Fast Racing Neo. It's okay, but nowhere near as cool as F-Zero, it just doesn't have that distinctive, creative level design, doesn't feel as tight controls-wise, and is overall just a really generic game with no soul whatsoever. Of course, the latter would probably be fine as long as a game is called F-Zero, but still, eh. |
I take issue with the no soul thing, but that is an oft dragged out ethereal thing tied to taste. It's definitely its own style though, it's not just a clone. RMX though I think is a big improvement to Neo. Better controls, the new added tracks through the DLC and Neo specifically are cooler and more creative.
I think if they were brought in to partner with another team with Shin'en handling the technology side and some of the gameplay and another team to help refine the gameplay and of course beef up their resources to help create things like a more fleshed out campaign and other things to give it more character, Shin'en could help make a great F-Zero game. Or push Fast to the next level, which I would also like to see.
