Deus Ex 'is not dead,' Eidos Montreal boss says
https://www.pcgamer.com/deus-ex-is-not-dead-eidos-montreal-boss-says/
Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was good, but for a variety of reasons it wasn't exactly a big hit. That led to rumors in early 2017 that Eidos Montreal, which had previously positioned the Deus Ex series as its flagship, had basically shelved it in favor of other things. There hasn't been much said about it since, but studio head David Anfossi recently told PCGamesN that while Shadow of the Tomb Raider is currently the big thing on the Eidos plate, "Deus Ex is not dead."

Slay the Spire update includes a pile of new potions
https://www.pcgamer.com/slay-the-spire-update-includes-a-pile-of-new-potions/
Excellent card crawler Slay the Spire released a new update today, adding a profuse pile of potions to the game’s mixture of deck building and dungeon crawling. The new update is actually a rework of the whole potions system, previously functional but a bit lackluster. Potions are now divided into Common, Uncommon, and Rare categories, and some of the new potions look quite powerful on the face of it—like a fairy in a jar that prevents death, or a little bit of Snecko oil to draw some cards and gain the sometimes-valuable Confuse effect.

https://www.pcgamer.com/la-mulana-2-appears-on-steam-set-for-release-this-summer/
It's been more than four years since the "archaeological ruin exploration action game" La-Mulana 2 was successfully funded on Kickstarter, to the tune of $267,000. Work has slowly (apparently very slowly) but surely progressed since then, and today developer Nigoro threw open the doors to a "teaser" website and a Steam page.

Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia will bump up the difficulty in an update next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/total-war-saga-thrones-of-britannia-will-bump-up-the-difficulty-in-an-update-next-week/
Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia is a strong, streamlined strategy romp let down by a weak late game—so said Fraser in his review. Some AI niggles, odd victory conditions and abundant resources gifted him easy wins, and in one case he earned two victories before turn 30. It got so bad that he had to manufacture his own problems, adopting a noble that he knew would cause trouble. Creative Assembly wants to address those issues in an update next week, which is designed to make the game more difficult in general.

https://www.pcgamer.com/rocket-league-planning-a-rocket-pass-that-unlocks-cosmetics-as-you-level-up-will-have-free-and-premium-versions/
Rocket League will introduce a new tiered item unlock system this summer in which players earn cosmetics for leveling up. The "Rocket Pass" will have both free and paid-for paths. The free version will offer cosmetics—decals, wheels, toppers and the like—as well as decryptors that open crates. The premium pass will be unlocked for a one-off fee and, presumably, will offer better, more regular gear as you progress.
Platinum claims it will 'turn the action genre on its head' with upcoming unannounced game
https://www.pcgamer.com/platinum-claims-it-will-turn-the-action-genre-on-its-head-with-upcoming-unannounced-game/
Last year, Platinum Games told Joe that it would like to bring all of its games to PC, but we still know very little about what it's working on next, other than the Switch-exclusive Bayonetta 3. In January, it said it was developing two self-published games that would sit somewhere between AAA and indie titles, and this week designer Hideki Kamiya gave another hint about the studio's future plans, saying he's working on a game that will “turn the action genre on its head".
