Sony Not Having Traditional E3?

"Sony has announced its E3 showcase will take place at 6 p.m. Pacific, 9 p.m. Eastern on June 11 (that's 2 a.m. June 12 in the UK"

From what I read here it just feels like they're having their usual E3 press conference.
