I finished GTA, and I'm 3/4ths of the way to MGSIV. I'd not give either of them a 10, since neither of them is even the best game in the franchise. That said, the last GTA was better than Metal Gear, as a game. It is uglier, its story doesn't match the mechanics, but in the end, the actual playing was way more fun.

The story drags Metal Gear down like a rock. It's a sequel and it shows. By itself, it doesn't provide a compelling storyline. The BBs were such a caricature they were completely uninteresting. Liquid is a horrible villain. Otacon gets lamer in every game.

This is the first Metal Gear that made no sense by itself, and it continues the main storyline of MGS2, the weakest of the lot. What in the world was Kojima thinking?
