Its so weird to see statements like this, because I keep wondering where are white men being pushed to? They are doing very well as a whole in our country and in fact many are in power and making the laws that govern millions of people that don't even look like them. I understand Americans wanting equal opportunity seems like white men being pushed aside but its absolutely not the same thing. |
Man,
maybe I didnt explained me correctly.
What I mean is there is always some kind of accusation or pointing finger. I think some white males see themselves afraid or with pointed fingers by telling them they are privileged and they reject feminism or black lives matter stuff. I think we need to be careful also to the way we speak and point the fingers with them and assuring no one is going to nullify white men identity.
Sometimes they only caricatural propaganda videos with hysterical people reclaiming that white men suck.
And that is something we need to be careful to assure is not the norm.
I think feminism and black lives matter or whatever movement that fights prejudice and privilege should exist and have a loud voice. We just need to understand each other. In some sense what I mean is that I understand that white men as me can be afraid of seeing them accused of being a crap. Sometimes that is also used to manipulation.
It is used also as manipulation of course the other way around.
We just need to be serious and talk with truth and respect and without moralisms and mocking.
And stop being so binary on your conversations.
We need to seek consensus.
There is too much propaganda around.
F. Scott Fitzgerald: "The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function. One should, for example, be able to see that things are hopeless and yet be determined to make them otherwise."
