Monday news, part two:
Swery's The Good Life has a story trailer
https://www.pcgamer.com/swerys-the-good-life-has-a-story-trailer/
After one unsuccessful crowdfunding campaign last year, Swery's The Good Life reached its Kickstarter goal on second showing this week. According to the project's page, the cats-and-dogs murder mystery game will be brought to life next year, all going to plan, in something that boasts "bizarre and mysterious things" and "unique and memorable characters".
Some of that is teased in the game's first story trailer.
Overwatch's Brigitte is already getting nerfed
https://www.pcgamer.com/overwatchs-brigitte-is-already-getting-nerfed/
The latest Overwatch update unleashed the new hero Brigitte into the game's competitive mode. Just a few days later, Blizzard has already announced nerfs.
This is probably a good thing, if the competitive Overwatch forums and subreddits are any indication. Most of the threads complain about how Brigitte has a stun and a knockback, both on short cooldowns. Her kit was largely designed to help her deal with quick flankers like Tracer and Genji, but it's also a nightmare for tanks like Reinhardt.
Rust gets a safe zone in the new Compound Update
https://www.pcgamer.com/rust-gets-a-safe-zone-in-the-new-compound-update/
The new Compound update promises to help alleviate the stresses of such no-holds-barred business by adding a place where players can safely interact under the protective watchful eye of heavily-armed scientists. It will provide useful services and facilities including a refinery, workbenches, a recycler, a water-catcher, and vending machines that sell basic survival resources, and also a place where you can just kick back and be social if that's your thing.
Destiny 2's new 'Prismatic Matrix' should make Eververse items easier to earn
https://www.pcgamer.com/destiny-2s-new-prismatic-matrix-should-make-eververse-items-easier-to-earn/
There's a lot going on in the latest edition of This Week at Bungie, which isn't terribly surprising given that the Destiny 2: Warmind expansion drops next week. But one new feature, called the Prismatic Matrix, stands out as particularly interesting. The Prismatic Matrix is a new feature coming in season 3 that's aimed at improving the experience with the Eververse Trading Company, the in-game store that sells cosmetic items for real money.
Next Rusty Lake game, and accompanying film, beats Kickstarter goal within 10 hours
https://www.pcgamer.com/next-rusty-lake-game-and-accompanying-film-beats-kickstarter-goal-within-10-hours/
The creators of the Rusty Lake games—think creepy, point-and-click escape rooms—took to Kickstarter this week to raise money for their next project, a new game and an accompanying short film. The campaign passed its €15,000 goal in just nine hours, and it's no wonder: the nine previous games in the series are well regarded, and as surreal as you like. Rusty Lake Paradise, the most recent game, came out in March.
Smoke and Sacrifice, the survival fantasy RPG, is out on May 31
https://www.pcgamer.com/smoke-and-sacrifice-the-survival-fantasy-rpg-is-out-on-may-31/
After spending an hour with Smoke and Sacrifice in March, Samuel described it as like "Don't Starve as a dark fantasy RPG", which is something I can get on board with. I like the hand-painted art, as well as the idea of taking a survival game with crafting and making it more focused and narrative driven. The game now has a release date of May 31, so there's not long to wait until we find out if it's any good.
Squad alpha version 11 adds British Armed Forces, Afghan-themed map and nine new weapons

Squad, the 50v50 multiplayer military FPS, has been in alpha for nearly three years. That's a long time for its Kickstarter backers to wait, but developer Offworld Industries has slowly but surely built a solid shooter packed with features, to the point where virtually everything I read about it now is positive. The 11th alpha version arrived this week, adding the British Armed Forces alongside a new map and a huge stash of weapons and vehicles.
VR rhythm game Beat Saber, now the highest rated game on Steam, releasing level editor next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/vr-rhythm-game-beat-saber-now-the-highest-rated-game-on-steam-releasing-level-editor-next-week/
If you haven't heard of Beat Saber before, then you're not alone—I only caught wind of it earlier today. But this Early Access VR rhythm game, which is basically a lightsaber version of Guitar Hero, is now the highest rated game on Steam. It's clocked nearly 2,000 reviews with a 99% positive rating, which is enough to put it above everything except the Witcher 3's DLC expansion pass. It's going to change a lot before it leaves Early Access later this year, starting with a major update next week that will let players create custom levels set to their own audio files.
Zombie RTS They Are Billions adds its most powerful structures yet to improve late game survival
https://www.pcgamer.com/they-are-billions-adds-its-most-powerful-structures-to-improve-late-game-survival/
Zombie survival RTS They Are Billions' latest update focuses on improving the late game by adding its most powerful structures yet. The Six Wonders, detailed in the video above, cost "tonnes of resources", but may well keep your colony alive against the endless waves of enemies.
For Honor season 6 release date set with a new map, seasonal event and hero reworks
https://www.pcgamer.com/for-honor-season-6-release-date-set-with-a-new-map-seasonal-event-and-hero-reworks/
After "more than a year of tweaks, improvements, and additions", For Honor has revealed 'Hero's March'—Season Six of its history-bending battler. Due later this month, the new campaign brings with it a new map, a new seasonal event and "major gameplay reworks" for two of its characters.
Thanos is coming to Fortnite in a limited time Avengers: Infinity War crossover
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-thanos-avengers-infinity-war/
Purple, radiator-chinned Avengers: Infinity War villain Thanos will be making a limited-time appearance in Fortnite this week, Entertainment Weekly has revealed.
The genocidal Titan will be playable starting Tuesday, May 8 in the free 'Infinity Gauntlet Limited Time Mashup' mode, which will work the same as Fortnite's standard battle royale mode, except that the all-powerful Infinity Gauntlet will spawn somewhere on the map. Find it and put it on, and you'll be granted the visage of Thanos and his powers—though exactly what those powers will be isn't clear yet, as Epic has probably not figured out how to manipulate the fabric of time.
Please excuse my bad English.
