I prefer the new one. The old style was great for the start but the lack of dynamics in the gameplay and the narrative got to me the longer the games went on.
Those kids have not even been to the good part yet. "teases" That's what I love with the new god of war. There is a change of pace which the original GoW didn't have.
If someone asks why I'm using an alt account, CGI and Truckusaurus got me a temp approval until I get my iconic and notorious "kurasakiichimaru" account back. :p
