Both were great African-American pop stars. Both had large fan bases. Michael Jackson was a great dancer and a great singer. Prince played 5 instruments and he was a great musician. Michael Jackson was a child-star turned international superstar and he was a star for 40 years. Michael Jackson was constantly in the media spotlight and the last 10 years of his life he was famous for just being famous. Prince was not constantly in the media spotlight, and he kept a lower profile compared to Michael Jackson.
