In light of recent events with Nvidia dropping their GPP program, I'd like to just post this recent piece of news regarding AMD (since some here are on the "AMD good guy" wagon).

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
