Maybe special effects. Scripts are worse, pacing is worse, pretty much everything except explosions are worse today. The original jurassic park is still 10 times better than Jurassic world.

You're generalizing. Are there shit movies? Ya, there's plenty. Way more than back in the day even, but that is simply because the market has gotten far more crowded, which I said earlier. That doesn't mean there aren't plenty of really great productions, and the best of the best today is a million times higher quality than the best of the best from a few decades ago. The same will be true of these things decades down the road. They'll be far superior to what we have today.

That doesn't diminish the things we love from back in the day, but these mediums just evolve. From visual and sound effects, to filming/developing techniques, immersion, picture clarity, production values, all the nuances in the performances that come through now better than they ever could in the past, etc.

Do you even watch the best movies of the 60s/70s/80s/90s? Whats better from the past 5 years than godfather 1 and 2? Than pulp fiction? Ben Hur? Lawrence of Arabia? I mean the list could go on endless, the best movies of today are not even remotely on the level of the best movies of prior decades. There will be blood is one of the few movies of the past decade that I can think of which could sit pretty as an all time great of any decade. Great movies are driven by script and acting. Technology doesnt do a whole lot for that.
