I think its fairly obvious that Bungie intentionally 'dumbed down' the graphics for the beta. Probably for two reasons:
- Needed to be a reasonably sized download, and a full set of textures would have made download too big.
- To keep some 'wow' factor for the game's release.
Gamers have 3 choices this generation: The Exercise Machine, the Movie Machine, or the Game Machine. What kind of gamer are you?
