I think that when people come to talk about “game of the generation” than God Of War will have earned its place in the discussion. So much of what it does is in 10/10 territory that you have to say that it hits what it aims at. The voice acting and character design is phenomenal; the environmental puzzles are at least as good as any Tomb Raider; the combat is satisfying & (for me at least!) challenging. There are moments/sequences that are going to live in the memory.

That said, so far I respect the hell out of it but I don't yet love it. (I had the same problem with Horizon ZD) When people come to champion something for Game of the Generation they look for something above & beyond technical perfection.
