I have said it before and I'll say it again, I'm shocked at just how excited for this game I am.
I didn't much care for the rest of the series, if I'm being honest, but I keep buying them because I know they're good and because I love hack and slash games! I got God of War and God of war II on Ps2, then again on PS3 in the God of War collection. I bought the Origins collection as well, then got God of War III on PS4. Then, when my copy of God of War III was stolen, I got it on Ps4 as a cheap download.
So it's not like I haven't supported the series, but I never did finish God of War III and didn't care to. by then I was bored of the franchise as it was the same hilarious nonsense I'd come to roll my eyes at back on the first game (which, by the way, is the one I like the least in the entire franchise thus far).
but, despite more than a decade of not caring for the franchise, here I am excited for the Norse reboot! Is it because I'm more of an adult now and am willing to risk it all on a new game? Is it because the formula and aesthetic is different? Is it because it's said to take after one of my all time favorite games (Bloodborne)? Am I just buying into the hype of a game with a high Metacritic score?
Who knows? All I know is that I'm stoked, the reviews I've read say that this game fixes all the things I found problematic in the prior games, and I'm getting it for cheap (56 CAD, so like 40 USD) due to Amazon messing up.
Let's kill some norse gods!
