Cross generation titles exist. BotW on WiiU and switch aren't separate games just because the Switch version looks better. Totals added together.

you don't have explain this to me, but combining 2 platforms and with one looking a generation better doesn't = 14 + million sales  if it was just say on 3ds or wiiu, because many would have to buy 2 versions, if they want a handheld version or the vastly superior version to play at home, the switch version won't have that benefit. 

Exactly. It has the benefit of being the replacement for both of them and having a unified Nintendo 1st party library behind them.
