The more that people realize that instead of discarding their opponents view point for being "Right Wing" or "Left Wing" the better.
Argue the argument that is presented rather than attacking someones political alignment or delving into Ad Hominem or other logical fallacies.

i agree which is why i don't think my stance with regards to whether i'm on the right or left bears any relevance to the points i've raised

not that i even take a stance to begin with, all i'm in favor of is the truth
