that games became bigger is naturally a reason too, ffxv, kingdom hearts 3, final fantasy vii remake are a good example...but fir this reason stuff increased too, if i remember correctly on ff vi worked 15 - 20 people but nowadays they have teams with 100 - 200 people ( if is a aaa project)
