I voted for him on several issues. Most nations consider the usage of chemical weapons to be a red line. The US has to remain a global player. |
There is no proof of Assad using chemical weapons the fact that Trump just a few days ago said he would not strike on Syria and all of a sudden last night he confirms the strike shows that somethings going on here. Trump is not dumb he knows damn well it wasn't Assads men who used chemical weapons, either Trump wants to push Russia into a war or he wants to give Syria to ISIS. My guess is both.

Since they delayed any action while they were verifying it all then they suddenly strike buildings only related to chemical weapons, what does that tell you? Stop blowing this stuff out of proportion and think calmly. It's not WW3 or the end of the world. |
Putin said that if US strikes they will respond, and they have every right to it because what Trump just did is prove that he doesn't want to pull out of Syria he wants to destroy the country even more and give it to ISIS.

You need to stop drinking CNN koolaid
| Puppyroach said: Trump is a moron and a racist and anyone who votes for him is a terrible person, but there is no WW3 coming. There is something very fishy with this whole situation that I can't put my finger on, but there is definitely no WW3 on the horizon. Also, it's the agenda of both Republicans and democrats to wage war since the 80's, the left is opposed to any war and would like to dismantle most of the military overseas. |
Another CCN koolaid drinker yeah this must all be racism right?

When looking at past events like the proxy wars in Vietnam or Russia's invasion of Afghanistan, the air-dropped supplies into west Berlin after it was cut off, the Cuban Missile Crisis/Bay of Pigs fiasco, or just the Cold War in general... it's pretty darn hasty to say that THIS will be what triggers WW3. It's certainly sketchy, but we've been through worse. One thing to consider is that Russia is far weaker than most seem to realize and doesn't compare to the super power that was the USSR. Their economy has crumbled, they're under crippling sanctions, their relations with China have chilled, and really they are about as isolated diplomatically as they've been in many decades. They still have a powerful military and navy, but their GDP has dropped from $2.2 trillion in 2013 to under $1.5 trillion today, and in nearly every meaningful way now sports an economy weaker than Canada (which is not to insult Canada which has something like 1/5 the population and isn't trying to sustain an enormous military and navy). The real question is whether they could deliver a non-nuclear knock out punch early, as they would not be able to sustain a prolonged war unless it remained localized. Right now what we're seeing is a bunch of posturing and bluffing from those involved... it may look unfamiliar to us, but that's because it's not something we've really had to deal with since the Cold War where such things were a daily occurrence. The truth is no nation (outside of perhaps a neutral China sitting back and watching) would benefit from such a war, and so they're instead playing a game of chicken. Putin may be an asshole but he's not stupid, and I imagine he'll do his damndest to win this standoff without actually committing to a full-scale war, even if it involves some proxy attacks. |
While you do have a point Russia still has a huge army and have ties with North Korea which could only lead to nuclear weapons being used. Even if WW3 doesn't happen what Trump just did was unAmerican and a stab in the back to the Russians who fought off AL-Qaeda and ISIS the same groups who were supported by Hillary and Obama, it's basically saying that he supports radical Islam.

these events have been planned for a long time... the only people who don't get that now are hopelessly naive |
Some are saying that Trump was replaced by an AI robot or by a doppelganger during his speech.
Trump apologist are hilariously desperate to defend this guy what i've just witnessed is that Trump is just a two faced son of a bitch who loves to act tough on media but really is a pussy under pressure. So there is no money for a wall but there sure is money to bomb Middle Eastern countries where we have no business in the first place.
| PwerlvlAmy said: Too early to say hes gone just yet. We will see though. |
He's gone in my book, whether WW3 happens or not Trump swore he would not mess any longer in Syria and what he just did was unAmerican and pretty much confirm he's a leftist who supports radical Islam and anyone who supports radical Islam needs to be locked up.

Keep watching your CNN and Comedy Central the Russians fought off ISIS and Al-Qaeda and actually support secular Islamic countries unlike Trump who has done nothing other than provoke the Russians into conflict.

You forgot to photoshop a tin foil hat on Geralt. Also people not to stop worrying about a "conflict" between Russia and Usa, if there ever will be one Russia dies in 2 seconds. People need to learn Russia is a weak country now where theirs GDP is lower than Italy's. |
Russia may be weaker than US but they're still a major power who have ties with North Korea, the point is Trump should not have done that this is not what he stood for. What did Syria ever do to him or Americans? Of course nobody cares about Syria because we don't have to live any of the hell they're going through over there seeing their country getting destroyed and losing family members by foreign nations who are supposedly there for 'peace'.

This is so true ... (too many people overestimate the global impact of Russia) The age of Russia or the USSR being a "superpower" are well past it's prime. Russia are making these moves not because they truly want to face the world but because they and Putin are desperate about preserving Russian history and culture where their nation is becoming more irrelevant in the past and coming years on the global stage ... (they desire to be isolationist to defend themselves, not to intentionally start wars) Russia is arguably going to be more scared shitless of it's rising neighbor from the south than America since their an immediate threat at their doorstep when they will have enough geopolitical power to go around and start bullying everyone around it ... |
Well if Trump can push around Russia then Turkey can push around Russia and if Turkey can then anyone can. Russians and Syrians have lost thousands of men fighting off ISIS, Al-Qaeda and Saudi Arabian invasion and this is how Trump shows his respects? Russia has every right to retaliate after this even if they end up losing hard they didn't ask for conflict.
