Friday news, part two:

Fortnite is back but 50v50 is delayed, Epic says 'sorry' with some free stuff
https://www.pcgamer.com/fortnite-remains-offline-because-of-database-trouble-no-eta-on-its-return/
Epic has sounded the all-clear on Fortnite, but the 50v50 Limited Time mode that was meant to be live today has been pushed back to next week. As a way of apology for all the trouble, the studio will hand out some freebies to players: A free Troll Stash Llama in Save the World and a Back Bling gift in Battle Royale this weekend, and then next week, a pack of Battle Stars for Battle Royale players and Seasonal Gold for Save the World players. A detailed post-mortem of what went wrong, and how Epic will (hopefully) avoid this kind of gong show in the future, is also on the way.

>>And here's a video with the hidden Fortnite dance floors (?).

Hearthstone: The Witchwood is live
https://www.pcgamer.com/hearthstone-the-witchwood-is-live/
I hope you've got your "janky evens-only decks" ready for action, because the big moment has arrived: Hearthstone: The Witchwood is now live. Blizzard has rolled out the expansion worldwide, except for China, where it will arrive several hours later. Current estimates have it coming at around 6 pm ET.

Hearthstone's new expansion already has a game-breaking combo
https://www.pcgamer.com/hearthstones-new-expansion-already-has-a-game-breaking-combo/
The theme of Hearthstone’s latest expansion is a dank, haunted forest, lingering outside the walls of the cursed city of Gilneas. However, with The Witchwood only a couple of hours old, it already appears that something spookier is haunting the Hearthstone community: a new degenerate one-turn-kill combo. This spectacular combo is the talk of the pro player scene, and to be honest, they're right to be afraid.

Beautiful Ghibli-inspired adventure game Forgotton Anne out next month
https://www.pcgamer.com/beautiful-ghibli-inspired-adventure-game-forgotton-anne-comes-out-next-month/
Forgotton Anne is an indie game that looks like a Studio Ghibli movie, as we said last year when we spoke to the team at ThroughLine Games about its creation. More specifically, it's an offbeat 2D adventure game that mixes puzzles, platforming and impeccable hand-drawn art, and now it finally has a release date. Forgotton Anne will launch on Steam for $20 on May 15, as revealed in the latest trailer.

CCP Games CEO says he's a 'big believer' in VR despite halting VR development
https://www.pcgamer.com/ccp-games-vr-development/
During Fanfest 2018, CCP's massive fan-convention in its hometown of Reykjavik, Iceland, Pétursson took the stage to talk about the current state of CCP. Inevitably, that brought him to the elephant in the room of CCP's four available VR games, which Pétursson assured would see support for the time being. After the ceremony, I caught up with Pétursson to talk about the other elephant in the room: Was VR, in its current state, dying?

EVE Online's next expansion pits players against a deadly alien race
https://www.pcgamer.com/eve-online-into-the-abyss-triglavians/
EVE Online has no shortage of dangers and mysteries, but its new expansion will be adding more of both in the form of a deadly alien race, the Triglavians. Announced at Fanfest 2018, CCP Games' annual fan-convention that is actually just an excuse to drink very expensive Icelandic beer, Into the Abyss is a free expansion coming in May 29.

Galactic Civilizations 3 gets governments and crises in the new 'Intrigue' expansion
https://www.pcgamer.com/galactic-civilization-3-gets-governments-and-crises-in-the-new-intrigue-expansion/
A new Galactic Civilizations 3 expansion called Intrigue brings what sounds like a touch of Civilization to the 4X interstellar empire-building game. It adds 20 styles of planetary government, each with its own advantages and disadvantages, new special events called Crises to deal with, a new "Commonwealth" status and options for your outer worlds, a Galactic Market, and a Galactic News Network that will deliver word of treaties, war, and other important current events.

Rockstar confirms that some Grand Theft Auto 4 music is being removed
https://www.pcgamer.com/rockstar-confirms-that-some-grand-theft-auto-4-music-is-being-removed/
Licensed music can be a fantastic tool for bringing game worlds to life. There's just one drawback to it: Licenses have a tendency to expire. And when they do, that great music goes away. Grand Theft Auto 4 will soon suffer those wounds of loss as well, as Rockstar has confirmed a Kotaku UK report that some of the radio station music we know and love will soon be removed from the game.

Tabletop-inspired RPG For The King launching from Early Access next week
https://www.pcgamer.com/tabletop-inspired-rpg-for-the-king-launching-from-early-access-next-week/
For The King was successfully Kickstarted in 2015 and entered Steam Early Access in February 2017 for a projected six month stay, "give or take a few months." Developer IronOak Games missed the mark on their prediction by more than just a few months, but For The King is finally preparing for launch: it will leave Early Access on Thursday, April 19, the studio announced.

The Eugen Systems strike is over, but the battle rages on
https://www.pcgamer.com/the-eugen-systems-strike-is-over-but-the-battle-rages-on/
In February, 21 developers at Steel Division: Normandy '44 developer Eugen Systems went on strike, alleging "serious violations" of their rights including delayed payments, denied overtime pay, and wages that were below the country's minimum wage. The strike came after 15 months of failed negotiations, and earlier this month several current and former employees announced that they were taking the matter to court.
Now the striking developers have released a statement announcing that the strike was brought to an end earlier this month. Not because they got what they wanted, though, because it sounds like they got nothing at all.

>>Has any of you played What Remains of Edith Finch? I don't even own it.
