The funny thing about this is that I actually didn't care for the first three God of War games. I hate Kratos as a character, I thought the combat was needlessly simplistic, focusing on style over substance to a really nasty degree, and I hated the story. The puzzles were boring and simple, and I felt that other action/hack'n'slash games did what God of War were trying to do with more style and more substance.

But this? This interests me because it's so very clearly meant to be unlike those games. The gameplay isn't frenetic, super-fast paced, or overtly stylish; instead, it's slowed down, more methodical, and more weighty. The story seems to be less about Kratos mindlessly killing everyone because he's a killer and got 'tricked' into killing someone, and more about putting that behind him so that he might raise a kid. He's already gone through and killed all the Greek gods, so I guess it makes sense that he goes after Norse gods.

So yeah, really excited for this one. I can't wait to play it!
