A game like this was decided by a questionable ref call.
You're right it wouldn't be discussed outside the box. It wouldn't affect the game so much. There's shirt pulling and more contact in box every game that would be called a foul outside the box. Handballs are always fouls outaout the box, not necessarely in the box.
Some other refs wouldn't have called a pen. Or given Buffon red when yellow was More than enough. Oliver fucked up.
