Honestly this reason make sense, So I think it was same with vita as it came along side 3DS which was bascially DS2, so i guess they had the same fear as MS, but at the end of the day it back fired in a big way.

That is an interesting theory. But then we see the next Xbox as Xbox One....... I do get how they got the "ONE" from. 

lol yes! that was one of the question asked to don at xbox launch.. about the philosophy behind the name xbox one name, in regards to 360. he said we were not market leaders back then now we are so we want consumer to start see this as a new beginning for xbox brand.
