Somehow i suspected who the OP was just by the threads name and nature. Go figure.
It didn't bomb. Maybe it didn't sell as much as Capcom predicted, but they made enough profit off it to justify the change of direction. If they release another third person action RE, it probably will be a semi spin-off in the veins of Revelations 1 and 2.
For an horror triple AAA game, it sold decently. Compare the sales with the recent Evil Within 2. That sold waaay less and i do think it was somewhat within Bethesda's predictions.
