There are a lot more sides than two.  This two-party, left/right spectrum thing is some BS that Americans buy in to that doesn't seem to exist in most of the rest of the developed world.  It really speaks poorly of us.  

Still in Brazil our 50 parties is even worse situation and like 45 or more of them are to the center left to left.
