Well, not quite console related, but it might just backfire more these days.

For example I remember there was a racing game that advertised itself by starting with a Mario Kart parody, and then went 'here's a real racer'. It....apparently didn't go over well sales wise, and more people apparently were interested in the M.K Parody than it.

The Democratic Nintendo fan....is that a paradox? I'm fond of one of the more conservative companies in the industry, but I vote Liberally and view myself that way 90% of the time?
