You don't think that the fact that the overall rate of gun violence in the UK is vastly smaller than that in the US makes your link seem a little pointless? Are you saying that the UK has enacted some new gun laws that are the cause of this increase? Because the UK has a long was to go before the catch up with the US and the argument is that tighter gun laws is the reason they're that low in the first place. A one year increase does little to fight that argument. |
"You don't think that the fact that the overall rate of gun violence in the UK is vastly smaller than that in the US makes your link seem a little pointless?"
ah yes, because guns are the only way people harm each other of course
"Are you saying that the UK has enacted some new gun laws that are the cause of this increase?"
no, they like the chinese primarily use knives instead
also something being illegal does not stop people from possessing it
weed is illegal right? how many people do you know that have experimented with weed?
"Because the UK has a long was to go before the catch up with the US"
with regards to gun violence yes and that's some consolation i suppose for those who have been stabbed to death
if those people had been armed they could have shot their attackers to death
"the argument is that tighter gun laws is the reason they're that low in the first place. A one year increase does little to fight that argument. "
as far as i know the uk is not that far off from the us with regards to violent crime
and its not just a one year increase... its been a steady rise over years... and i'm referring to the period after this analysis was done
i suppose where i differ is that to me i don't really care too much about the tools used too cause violent crime but about the deaths and injuries
