I don't play FF14 as much as I used to. Off and on sort of deal.  I haven't went to the forbidden land yet, hell I haven't even beaten Stormblood yet. Still level 63 with my Monk. Keep getting side tracked with other games and constantly putting it off

I can understand that, it is one hell of a grind. Best to wait til the next expansion, upgrade your gear easily and breeze through the story, which is excellent, maybe not on par with the Dragon song war but it's production value has increased drastically and it's ramping up again with some fantastic plot threads. End game is just a slow grind at the moment, thought Eureka and the relic steps might have saved it alas, just another massive grind after the initial overwhelming feeling wares off. I wish they'd make an MMO that wasn't based soley around grinding, esspecially with the amount of effort they put into creating the content and the price of the damn subscription.

Really annoyed me I grinded hard so I could show off to my friend and then he quits. So I grind for a bit more, hoping he comes back and I fairly high gear. Finally I decide to quit in October since I got through all the content, and then he comes back in November... Not sure I can come back.

Edit:  Point being with FFXIV content plan it encourages people to come back and quit often.
