And critics have always been more nitpicky with PS exclusives, there is always a ridiculous reason to drop it down, it's not something from this gen, in fact a Sony game has never got a 97 score on MC, despite the countless masterpieces the platforms received, in the end there is always something to pick that otherwise would have not. Funny that I think Uncharted 2 is overrated and it's their highest score ever xP |
I didn't forget Little Big Planet honestly, I just got lazy.
The "lower scores" are not that notable tbh ... A lot of PS4's early games were by no means masterpieces, and Gravity Rush 2 and The Last Guardian were always going to have lower scores due to being niche (Last Guardian actually has a pretty high score considering how mixed it is). The bigger reasons for the lower score is that the best studios were taking a long time to make games for PS4 either because they made games really late into the PS3's lifecycle, or because they were being very ambitious. If you notice, the games with lower scores on PS4 are games that don't really have any good comparison on PS3, so it's hard to make a true comparison. Truly speaking, my list is heavily flawed as a comparison because I had to fill it out with nicher games than what was on my PS3 list ... like I said, I think God of War, as well as other big exclusives will close the "gap".
A Sony game HAS got a 97+. Mr. Tony Hawk has something to say to you, good sir! But yeah, I know what you mean. "Sony branded" or games that have a Sony affiliation. Again, don't really know how much that has to do with bias though.
I don't like Uncharted in general. I don't think games like Mario Odyssey or Breath of the Wild should have nearly the metacritic score they have either. But I don't talk about that because it's not a very compelling point, I guess. But yeah, we can both agree that the list doesn't align with our taste perfectly xD
