So, forgive me if I'm incorrect as Metacritic's actual page won't load for me for some reason, but when I type the names of these games into Metacritic's search engine, it gives me these scores : Bloodborne got a 92 on Metacritic? Persona 5 got a 93 on Metacritic? Uncharted 4 got a 93 on metacritic? And Horizon missed 90 by 1 point? Are you guys sure you aren't exaggerating? Sorry if I'm wrong but for some reason the entire page won't load, it just tells me the score in the search bar on Metacritic.

Yes these are the scores.

As I said none could reach 95-96 like they did last gen.

Ok I wasn't saying you were wrong about that specifically, but don't you guys in this thread think you're REALLY exaggerating when you say there's a "sony bias"?  Granted I'm not just replying to you, but rather mostly to a lot of the thread.

PS3 Exclusives Metacritic :

Resistance : Fall of Man : 86

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune : 88

Ratchet and Clank : Tools of Destruction : 89

Resistance 2 : 87

Demon's Souls : 89

Ratchet and Clank : A Crack In Time : 87 (there are a few more titles but i'm lazy)

Killzone 2 : 91

Infamous : 85

Uncharted 2 : Among Thieves : 96

God of War 3 : 92

Infamous 2 : 83

Resistance 3 : 83

Uncharted 3 : 92

The Last of Us : 95

You get the point ... of course there is a few more big PS3 exclusives.

PS4 Exclusives Metacritic :

Killzone : Shadow Fall : 73

Infamous : Second Son : 80

Bloodborne : 92

Until Dawn : 79

Ratchet and Clank : 85

Uncharted 4 : 93

The Last Guardian : 82

Gravity Rush 2 : 80

Horizon Zero Dawn : 89

Persona 5 : 93

Nier Automata : 88

Nioh : 88

I think this kind of disputes the claims that there is A ) An inherent bias against Sony or B ) That they can't have results similar to last gen

All in all seems pretty fair to me. The scores make sense, and from what I can tell Sony only had two exclusives last generation which scored a 95+? The PS4's lifecycle isn't done yet, so I really think it can make it. The Last of Us 2 is practically guaranteed to get a 95+ , but it's not like it's a common thing that just suddenly ended when the PS4 arrived. Nioh and Bloodborne in particular are very similar in their scores to the other Souls games, and in fact Bloodborne has the highest score out of any of them(that I can tell?). The other franchises either had a significant reduction in perceived quality, or where derivative and weren't considered the best of their series. Uncharted 4, what you gonna do. People aren't always going to agree with you. Uncharted 2 probably has a higher score because of how much of an impact it made at the time.

Could it be that because Nintendo got two 95+ scores in a single year people are labeling  critics as unnecessarily nit-picky against Sony? If I'm wrong about this @otherpeopleinthisthread than you are more than free to ignore this part of the reply. But if that is the case, getting those kind of scores isn't exactly common for Nintendo either. Perhaps more common then Sony's 1st party output(I would check but again, can't load the page for some odd reason), but that doesn't imply an inherent bias either. There's always going to be one company at the top (in terms of arbitrary score aggregates!). Also, just because one company gets criticized too little doesn't mean another company gets unfairly criticized either. I'm sure there are tons of badly written criticisms of Sony games, and maybe you see them more often in their games, but then again no one ever said video game reviewers were good at articulating critique ("too much water!").

It's just guessing at the end of the day, but I think this game has a fair shot. Could be the big Sony game that is the landmark title for  PS4. Who knows!
