No, if the state "cared" about you they would have tougher gun laws, a fair tax system and more. The state keeps adding more jobs to its portfolio to calm the lazy masses, but that isnt its job. The states job is to protect its borders. They didnt have to do anything, workers revolted throughout history, in fact they did multiple times in the 1800s and they got shot and the problem was solved until the next riot. The state now provides people with a bunch of gooes and they're still marching. People will always demand more. Solution isnt to give them more. You wouldnt do that to your child. Solution is to teach them some self sufficiency and resilience. 

You know, I'm not a statist myself. It's hard to teach them self-sufficiency though while simultaneously trying to force them to rely on them.
