Don't hold your breath too much for that, people don't buy based off of future expectations, they buy what can be delivered today ... People shouldn't go in blindly buying into Switch expecting 3rd party support to come their way because predicting the future can burn them so they should go in assuming that the platform won't get much 3rd party support or what isn't already promised now ... PS4 isn't successful because of the promises but it's because of what it delivers now and continues to do so meaning it will keep being the most successful platform out of this generation. Sony uses that advantage to realize that most consumers are not like the few on the Switch who will hold out for a Switch port ... As far as the portability factor there is actually a way to compete with that and that's by lowering the price so that Japanese customers won't find much to complain about their value for the usage they'll get out of a system for $200 or even $150 ... (PS4 should just be an easy to access platform with a low price point for the Japanese customers with high developer support) |
Why did people buy a PS4 in the first two years then?
Not much third party support?
