I'm happy this game is finding some success because I had predicted long that if this game bombed, that would be the end of Rare. There simply wouldn't be a reason to keep them around as a developer anymore. Also, unless something comes out later that reveals some kind of incompetence at Rare, I wouldn't blame them for releasing Sea of Thieves in the current state it is in. I think the decision to release the game as early as they did came directly from Microsoft. Hopefully Sea of Thieves will continue to get support and maybe, just maybe Rare can be a great studio again.
