Not really. People like to make personal statements as if they were facts. A bit ignorant to suggest that no one ever does that or has ever done that before.
Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.
