I don't think I'm all that surprised. It may have been another case where the game was in development before the Switch announcement or when dev kits were readily available, as well as uncertainty of whether the system would be a success or not, which resulted in a Switch version taking more time to develop for. They may have wanted to focus on the readily available consoles to ensure the title sells well too. That's the way I see it, and I don't really fault them for that. As long as the game comes at a later date, I'm fine waiting. It's not like there's nothing to play until then xD
Kinda a bummer they aren't bringing the 3DS version though, since it sounds like some people would have wanted it. I suppose they see the 3DS as being irrelevant now since it's pretty much on its way out. I think if they did releasing it westside they would have found some success at least.
